Man in His 40s Punished After Threatening Police Called by Mother Over Drunk Driving

A man in his 40s has been punished after threatening police officers with a weapon when they responded to his mother’s report that he was trying to drive after drinking. His mother called police to prevent drunk driving, and officers arrived at the scene to stop him from getting behind the wheel. During that response, the man allegedly threatened the officers with a weapon. The case was handled by Judge Woo Sang-beom of the Changwon District Court’s Criminal Division 6 single-judge bench.
