13 Cars Get Flat Tires on Cheongju’s Palgyeol Bridge After Hitting Drain Cover

At around 9:17 p.m. on May 15, vehicles crossing Palgyeol Bridge in Oepyeong-dong, Cheongwon-gu, Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province, in the Ochang-to-Cheongju direction suffered a series of flat tires. Drivers were startled by loud popping sounds on the bridge at night. According to the report, tires on 13 vehicles were damaged after the cars drove over a steel cover installed for the bridge’s drainage facility. The damage was concentrated on the Palgyeol Bridge section used by vehicles heading from Ochang to Cheongju.
