Incheon Airport Parking Crunch Tied to Permit Abuse, Audit Prompts Apology

Incheon International Airport Corp. issued an official apology after an audit found that excessive issuance of business regular parking permits had worsened parking difficulties for airport users. According to the audit, areas allocated to regular parking permits reportedly accounted for 84% of the relevant parking space. It also pointed to cases in which some employees used business parking permits for private purposes during the vacation season. For travelers who struggled to find parking after arriving at the airport, the findings show that the corporation’s permit management was part of the problem.
