Manual Therapy Fees to Be Capped in July at Around 40,000 Won per Session
Published: · Source: mk.co.kr

The government is preparing final detailed rules before the managed benefit system for manual therapy takes effect on July 1. Under the new system, manual therapy costs, which have varied widely by hospital and were often described as being set at providers’ discretion, will be capped at around 40,000 won per session. Recognized treatment will also be limited to a maximum of 24 sessions per year. Manual therapy has been part of the non-covered medical service area, where prices differed significantly among medical institutions. With the managed benefit framework, fees and usage standards are expected to become clearer. Patients will need to check both the per-session cost and annual recognition limit, while providers will have to adjust operations to the new rules. Source: mk.co.kr.
