Samsung Electronics Union Talks Collapse, Strike Looms on the 21st

Talks between Samsung Electronics labor and management have finally broken down after the two sides failed to narrow differences over performance bonus payments. The Samsung Electronics supra-enterprise union rejected the post-mediation proposal presented by the National Labor Relations Commission, and marathon negotiations that continued until dawn ended without agreement. Choi Seung-ho said the mediation plan had moved backward from the previous position and that gaps on key issues had not narrowed.
