Samsung Electronics Strike Warning: Labor Economist Urges Government Response

Emeritus Professor Lee Jong-hoon of Myongji University warned in a Maeil Business Newspaper report that the Samsung Electronics labor union strike could lead to “mutual destruction” and said a firm government response is needed. He stressed that the union should be given both justification and an exit so it can settle its own choice. His concern is that excessive compensation at a single company could shake the wider labor market.
