Samsung Electronics union strike fears rise as 17-hour mediation fails
Published: · Source: mk.co.kr

Concerns are growing that a general strike by Samsung Electronics’ union could become a reality from the 21st after post-mediation between labor and management broke down. Samsung Electronics labor and management, together with the National Labor Relations Commission, held a post-mediation meeting for 17 hours until dawn on the 13th, but failed to reach an agreement. The process was intended to narrow differences between the two sides, yet it ended without a deal. As a result, attention has returned to the union’s planned strike on the 21st. Unless further progress is made in labor-management talks, tension over the potential walkout is expected to continue. Source: mk.co.kr
