Teen Myopia Warning: Glasses Alone Do Not Remove Blindness Risks
Published: · Source: mk.co.kr

Professor Kim Dae-hee of Kim’s Eye Hospital said in a presentation that myopia among Korean teenagers should not be regarded as a minor condition that can simply be offset with glasses. His point was that myopia is difficult to reverse once it develops, while glasses only correct vision temporarily and do not remove the underlying condition. Kim warned that advancing myopia can lead to serious eye diseases, including glaucoma, retinal detachment and macular degeneration, and in severe cases may even cause blindness. The message is that teen eye health needs careful attention to myopia from an early stage. Source: mk.co.kr
