Oyster Shell Desulfurizer Test Moves Ahead as Ecoshell Supplies KOSPO Plant
Published: · Source: mk.co.kr

Ecoshell, a company specializing in recycling fisheries byproducts, is supplying high-purity shell calcium carbonate produced at its resource recovery facility to Korea Southern Power’s Hadong Bitdream headquarters. The project will test whether oyster shells can be used as a desulfurization material at a power plant. The demonstration focuses on converting shells once treated as waste into an eco-friendly desulfurizer for use in plant processes. According to the original report, commercialization could enable annual use of more than 50,000 tons. The results may show how fisheries byproduct recycling can connect with power plant material supply. Source: mk.co.kr
