Iran Reinforces Hormuz Submarines, Warns Ships of Sanctions-Joining States

Iran’s military disclosed on May 10 local time that it had reinforced submarine deployments in the Strait of Hormuz. It also warned that ships belonging to countries participating in U.S. sanctions against Iran would not be permitted to pass through the strait. The announcement included the deployment of submarine assets described as the “dolphins of the Persian Gulf” to Hormuz.
