Gangnam Police Shake-Up Replaces Investigation Chiefs; Baek Hae-ryong Stays

Seoul Gangnam Police Station abruptly replaced working-level heads of investigation and criminal affairs on May 12. The move came at the station that handled a case in which broadcaster Yang Jung-won was accused by franchise Pilates studio owners of fraud and other allegations. It was reported as a personnel change linked to misconduct controversy and described as the largest reshuffle since the Burning Sun scandal. Baek Hae-ryong, however, remained in place.
